New Taphouse To Replace Manzana’s in Lake Oswego

Lake Oswego Review

August 17, 2023

A new taphouse will replace the former Manzana Rotisserie Grill that closed last year in Lakeview Village next to Millennium Plaza Park.

Gramor Development property owner Barry Cain is working with partners to open Lakeview Tap House, which will serve around 25 beers on tap as well as ciders (with an emphasis on local microbreweries) and food. Cain has already had success opening Lake Oswego restaurants such as Five Spice Seafood + Wine Bar and Pizzeria Sul Lago (which are also located in Lake View Village). He also has two other taphouses: Murrayhill Taphouse and Waterfront Taphouse in Vancouver.

“We learned that people want a casual place where they can come and not have to spend a lot of money but they have a lot of choices, a lot of good food,” Cain said. “People like beer restaurants. It’s beer-oriented but has great cocktails, a wine list. Our food is better than what people would expect for a beer-orientated place.”

The food menu will include sharable items like boards and appetizers as well as entrees, similar to what is offered at the aforementioned taphouses.

Partner Jeff Skeel said they are revamping the space to make it more open, light and inviting.

“In a taphouse, you like to feel comfortable and a sense of community in that space. We want higher ceilings, more light, energy in it, more casual,” he said.

The goal, Cain said, is for the taphouse to open by the end of the year or in January of next year.

“I would think that is something that is missing in Lake Oswego, so I think it will be well received in Lake Oswego — a restaurant that has good service and a great environment, a place you can take dates, your family,” Cain said.

Manzana closed in October 2022.
