A family-owned grocery chain will open its first Hillsboro store next month
in the heart of Oregon’s largest planned housing development.
Reed’s Crossing, a 463-acre South Hillsboro planned community located
south of Tualatin Valley Highway at Cornelius Pass Road, broke ground in
2016. Once complete, the mixed-use development will include 4,000 homes,
alongside parks, stores and restaurants.
At the core of the community is Reed’s Crossing Town Center, a 34-acre
shopping center anchored by a popular family-owned grocery store.
Eugene-based grocer Market of Choice will open its first Hillsboro location
May 22, it said Tuesday in a news release. Located at 3515 S.E. Cornelius
Pass Road, the store will be the supermarket chain’s 12th in the state.
The Reed’s Crossing store will be 35,000 square feet and include a meat and seafood department, cheese department, bakery and market kitchen with
prepared meals. There will also be a beer and wine bar.
“We are honored to bring Market of Choice to this vibrant community and
provide a space for people to shop and connect with one another,” CEO Rick Wright said in the release.
Market of Choice will hire 150 employees, according to the release.
Reed’s Crossing Town Center includes 104,000 square feet of potential retail and service space.
So far, open businesses include a Providence health center, an Active
Wellness Center athletic club and senior living community The Ackerly. Hillsboro Eye Clinic and Organic Bronze Bar opened April 1.
